How to Become a Node Provider
Becoming a node provider on the Trush network offers an opportunity to contribute to the network's security, efficiency, and decentralization, while also potentially earning Trush tokens (TRS). This chapter presents a step-by-step guide on how to set up a node, stake TRS tokens, and start validating transactions. Please note that we are currently in the process of building our Node Provider onboarding program, and we're eager to bring it to the community soon!
Step 1: Submit an Application
The first step is to submit an application to join our Node Provider waitlist. You can do this by clicking on the 'Apply Now' button on the Trush Node Provider page. Your application will then be reviewed by the Trush team.
Step 2: Meet the Benchmarking and Performance Requirements
If you're planning on using your own hardware to run a node, you'll need to ensure that it meets Trush's benchmarking and performance requirements. Upon application, you will be notified of your eligibility within two business days. If you opt to use Trush-provided servers, you can skip this step, as the servers already satisfy benchmark requirements.
Step 3: Deposit Collateral
Upon approval of your application, you will need to meet the collateral requirements by depositing a certain number of TRS tokens to your Web3 wallet. This collateral acts as an insurance policy to encourage high performance and ethical behavior among node providers. The specific number of tokens required will be communicated upon approval.
Step 4: Deploy Nodes
After fulfilling the collateral requirements, you will then independently deploy full nodes or archive nodes with the Trush Network. This involves downloading and installing the appropriate Trush node software, syncing with the Trush network, and configuring your node settings.
Step 5: Manage Your Nodes and Earn Rewards
The final step involves privately managing your nodes. You also have the option to opt-in to receive traffic from Trush's RPC load balancer. This means your node will help process network requests, and in return, you can earn token rewards.
By following these steps, you can become a crucial part of the Trush network, contributing to its growth, security, and decentralization. Remember, becoming a node provider requires both a time and resource commitment, but it can be a rewarding way to participate in the Trush ecosystem.
