Browser Wallets
Setting Up a Browser Extension Wallet with Trush Blockchain
Please note that the following steps are hypothetical and the actual steps might slightly differ when Trush's testnet and mainnet go live. The specific network details will be shared at the respective launches.
Browser-based wallets are one of the most common types of wallets due to their ease of use, and integration with various web-based applications. One of the most popular examples of this type of wallet is MetaMask. For the purpose of this guide, we'll use a hypothetical version of MetaMask tailored for the Trush Blockchain. Here's how you would set it up:
Step 1: Download and Install
The first step to using MetaMask with Trush is to download and install the extension on your browser. It is compatible with browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, and Brave. You can download it directly from the browser's extension store or from the official MetaMask website.
Step 2: Create a New Wallet
After you've installed MetaMask, click on the MetaMask icon in your browser's extension tray. This will open the MetaMask user interface.
You'll be greeted with a welcome screen. Click on "Get Started".
You will now have the option to import an existing wallet using a seed phrase or create a new wallet. Since this is a guide for new users, let's select "Create a Wallet".
MetaMask will then ask if you want to opt into data collection, you can select either "I agree" or "No Thanks".
You will now need to create a new password. Make sure this password is strong and unique. Confirm the password and click "Create".
Step 3: Secure and Backup Your Wallet
MetaMask will now show you a secret backup phrase. This is a string of 12 words that can be used to recover your wallet if you forget your password or if your computer fails.
Write down this phrase on a piece of paper and keep it in a safe place. Do not store this phrase on your computer as it would make your wallet vulnerable if your computer is hacked. After you've written down the phrase, click "Next".
You will now be asked to confirm your secret backup phrase. Click on the words in the order that they appeared on the previous screen and then click "Confirm".
Step 4: Connect to Trush Blockchain
Now that your wallet is set up, you'll need to configure it to connect with the Trush Blockchain.
Click on the network selection drop-down (it will likely display "Ethereum Mainnet" by default), at the top of the MetaMask interface and then click on "Custom RPC".
You will then be required to enter network details, which include Network Name, New RPC URL, Chain ID, Currency Symbol, and Block Explorer URL. Please note that the specific details for the Trush network will be announced when both the testnet and mainnet are live.
Once you've completed all of these steps, you're ready to use your new browser-based wallet with the Trush Blockchain! You'll be able to send and receive TRS tokens, interact with Trush DApps, and much more, all directly from your browser.
Remember to always keep your private keys and backup phrases secure and private. They're the keys to your digital assets and should be handled with care.
