Hardware Wallet

Setting Up a Hardware Wallet for Trush Blockchain

A hardware wallet is a physical device that securely stores a user's private keys in an offline environment, providing an extra layer of security. It can be used to safely interact with different blockchains, including Trush.

While the steps for setting up a hardware wallet can vary depending on the specific brand and model, we will outline the process using the popular Ledger Nano S as an example.

Step 1: Update Your Ledger

Ensure that your Ledger device is running the latest firmware. This can be done via Ledger Live, the management software for Ledger devices.

Step 2: Install the Ethereum App

As Trush is an EVM compatible blockchain, you will need to install the Ethereum app on your Ledger device. This can be done within Ledger Live by navigating to 'Manager', connecting your device and installing the Ethereum app.

Step 3: Connect to a Wallet Interface

Ledger devices do not have a native interface for interacting with the Trush blockchain. As such, you will need to connect your device to a wallet interface that supports custom networks, such as MyEtherWallet (MEW) or MetaMask.

Step 4: Add Trush Network

In your chosen wallet interface, you'll need to add the Trush network. This process varies between interfaces, but generally involves adding a custom network and entering the network details. The specific details for the Trush network will be announced when the testnet and mainnet go live.

Step 5: Select the Trush Network and Connect Your Ledger

Once the Trush network has been added, select it from the network dropdown. You should then be able to connect your Ledger device and access your Trush address.

Step 6: Secure Your Recovery Phrase

Ensure you keep your 24-word recovery phrase for the Ledger in a safe place. If you ever lose access to your Ledger, this recovery phrase will be your only way to access your assets.

This process is not set in stone and could vary depending on the wallet interface and hardware wallet you use. The important steps are adding the Trush network to a wallet interface, and then connecting your hardware wallet to that interface."
